Supreme Court Dismisses Petition for Senate Flood Control Report Release
The Supreme Court has ruled against a petition to release a leaked draft of a Senate report on flood control.

The Supreme Court of the Philippines has rejected a petition aimed at compelling the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee to publish a complete, unredacted version of its draft report on alleged irregularities related to national flood-control projects. This decision came after the release of a partial report was leaked to various media outlets in February.
According to the court, unfinished committee reports do not qualify as official Senate records and are protected by legislative privilege. The petition for mandamus sought to obtain access to the draft in its entirety, but the Supreme Court determined that such a release was not warranted under the current circumstances.
