Tropical Depression Pilandok Enhances Southwest Monsoon
Tropical Depression Pilandok is strengthening the southwest monsoon, bringing rain to several regions in the Philippines, as per weather forecasts.

Tropical Depression Pilandok is currently enhancing the southwest monsoon, which is resulting in monsoon rain across various areas in the Philippines, including the Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that these regions are likely to experience continued rainfall due to the tropical depression.
According to Pagasa, while Pilandok is expected to strengthen the southwest monsoon, it is not forecasted to make landfall. The agency provided this update in its 5 p.m. weather forecast, indicating that Luzon and western portions of Visayas will particularly see rain as a result of the monsoon's enhancement by Pilandok.

In addition to Pilandok, two other tropical depressions located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility are also contributing to the intensification of the southwest monsoon, further influencing weather patterns in the region.
Reports suggest that Pilandok has slightly intensified over the Philippine Sea, with predictions that it may temporarily develop into a tropical storm before weakening again. However, this development remains subject to change during its progression.
