Tropical Depression Pilandok Intensifies into Tropical Storm
Tropical Depression Pilandok has intensified into a tropical storm as of September 1, according to the Philippine weather bureau.

Tropical Depression Pilandok has intensified into a tropical storm, bearing the international name Krovanh, as of September 1, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). The intensification was confirmed in a bulletin issued by Pagasa on Tuesday morning.
Pilandok was reported to be located approximately 1,145 kilometers from the Philippines at the time of its intensification. Despite this change in status, the storm is expected to remain far from the archipelago and is less likely to make landfall, based on forecasts from the weather agency.
In addition to Pilandok's developments, the southwest monsoon has been affecting parts of the Philippines, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall to areas including Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Zambales. This has raised concerns about weather conditions in these regions.

The monsoon rains are coinciding with haze caused by forest fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, which are impacting the western portions of the Visayas, Mimaropa, and Mindanao. Residents in these areas have been advised to take precautions against potential weather disturbances.
Pagasa continues to monitor the situation closely as the storm progresses towards southern Japan, ensuring that updates are provided to the public regarding any significant developments.
