The Supreme Court has decided not to compel ministers to appear in the Senate before the end of August, in response to the request from the Popular Party (PP) related to the migratory crisis in Ceuta. According to the ruling issued by the court's vacation chamber, the legal urgency required to address the request has not been demonstrated.

The judges argue that the decision not to grant the precautionary measure is due to the fact that "the special urgency legally required" in this situation has not been substantiated. The Court has allowed the Government a ten-day period to present its arguments before any further considerations.

This rejection from the Supreme Court means that the ministers' appearance requested by the PP will not take place in August. The party had demanded this appearance so that government members could explain the circumstances and actions taken regarding the crisis in Ceuta.

The Court emphasized in its ruling that any request must be addressed based on established legal criteria, which, in this case, were not met according to the analysis conducted. As a result, the PP's request was dismissed without prior consultation with the Government.

In summary, the Supreme Court considered that there was insufficient grounds to force the ministers to appear in the Senate, marking a setback for the PP in its attempt to confront the Government over this migratory crisis.

This ruling is set against the backdrop of the crisis in Ceuta and the PP's calls for accountability, highlighting the tension between the party and the Executive concerning the management of migration in the region.
