Breeveld, who celebrated his 82nd birthday last month, was a prominent figure in Surinamese film and television. He is best known for his role in 'Wan Pipel', a film directed by Pim de la Parra.
In 'Wan Pipel', Breeveld played the lead role of a Surinamese student returning to his homeland. Additionally, he was involved in the establishment of the Film Institute Paramaribo, alongside De la Parra and Arie Verkuijl.
According to Starnieuws, Breeveld had a significant impact on Surinamese cinema and television for decades.
Recently, in April 2024, filming took place for the movie 'Up the River' in Suriname, a co-production by Black Bee. It is unclear how involved Breeveld was in this production.
