The President of Taiwan, William Lai Ching-te, revealed a new plan to distribute NT$10,000, equivalent to €271, per person. This proposal is a result of significant growth in the economy driven by the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

The proposal was presented during a meeting on the Government's central budget, where the head of state discussed the implications of the AI boom on the country’s economic landscape.

William Lai emphasized that this 'AI dividend' aims to benefit all citizens, reflecting confidence in the positive impact of new technologies on economic growth.
