Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Condoles Death and Waives Farm Loans
In two separate announcements, Chief Minister Vijay expressed condolences for a fallen constable and waived farm loans for farmers.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has expressed his condolences over the death of A. Dharmaraj, a Grade-I police constable associated with the Drums Bagpiper band of the Tamil Nadu Special Police Training Centre in Avadi. Dharmaraj reportedly fainted while on parade duty during Independence Day celebrations. In his honor, the Chief Minister announced a relief package of ₹30 lakh.
In a separate initiative aimed at supporting farmers, Vijay announced a full waiver of cooperative farm loans amounting to ₹75,000. He stated that despite financial constraints, his government has decided to extend additional support totaling ₹953.06 crore to assist farmers facing difficulties.
Under this loan waiver scheme, farmers who had obtained loans between ₹75,000 and ₹1,00,000 will receive a maximum waiver of ₹75,000. Those who took loans exceeding ₹1 lakh will receive a maximum waiver of ₹35,000, according to reports from The Hindu.
