Tax authorities warn about fraudulent calls related to IRS
The tax administration warns about 'vishing' schemes requesting corrections to IRS declarations.

The Tax and Customs Authority has issued a warning about fraudulent telephone calls targeting citizens regarding their IRS declarations. According to the tax administration, these calls abuse the identity of the tax authority to request corrections of alleged discrepancies in the declarations.
This scheme, classified as 'vishing', involves scams that ask recipients to press a specific key during the call. The goal is to deceive individuals into providing personal or sensitive information under the false premise that they need to resolve an issue with their declarations.
The tax authority recommends that citizens ignore these calls and refrain from providing any personal information to callers, as these communications are fraudulent and have no legal basis.
