Tax platform Impots.gouv.fr hit by cyberattack
The Ministry of Economy has confirmed a leak of sensitive data related to Impots.gouv.fr, detected since June.
The tax platform, Impots.gouv.fr, has fallen victim to a cyberattack, confirmed by the Ministry of Economy. According to reports, a hacker claimed to have leaked highly sensitive data on specialized forums less than 24 hours before Bercy addressed the situation.
In June, the Ministry's services had detected the attack but did not communicate about it and apparently did not detect the data leak. This information has been corroborated by Le Monde, which reports that Bercy acknowledged part of the hacker's claims.
Cybersecurity expert Centho commented on the situation, warning that authorities could be facing significant repercussions due to the sensitive nature of the leaked data.
