Chalong Riewrang, a former member of the Thai parliament, has confessed to shooting a government official during a dispute over a loan. According to police reports, the incident occurred at a local government office in Nonthaburi province on August 10.

Following the shooting, Riewrang live-streamed a confession on YouTube, stating that he had shot the official and expressed a desire to recover his money. Reports indicate that he referred to the official as his 'good friend.'

The case gained additional attention when Riewrang called a Thai TV presenter during a live broadcast, admitting to the shooting. This comes on the heels of a recent rash of gun violence in Thailand, marking one of the most significant incidents in years.

After the incident, Riewrang surrendered to the authorities and gave a press conference at the police station, where he addressed the situation surrounding the shooting.
