Traffic accident causes multiple fatalities and injuries in São Paulo

On Monday (31), Lúcia Helena Joaquim Missaci, a resident of São João da Boa Vista, passed away in the hospital following a serious accident involving an ambulance from the city hall. She was among the passengers when the vehicle collided on the Deputado Mario Beni Highway (SP-340) in Mogi Guaçu, becoming the second fatality from the accident that occurred on Thursday (27).

Another incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday (3) in Descalvado, where a collision between a car and a truck resulted in one death. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. The accident occurred around 4:30 AM at km 119+536 of the Doutor Paulo Lauro Highway (SP-215).

An earlier accident between a car and a truck occurred in Paraguaçu Paulista, blocking the Manílio Gobbi Highway (SP-284) for approximately 13 hours. The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon (1), when the car driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. The stretch was cleared early Wednesday morning (2).

Also on Wednesday afternoon (2), a motorcyclist was injured in an accident involving a car and a motorcycle in Ivaiporã on Luiz Pasteur Street. The Military Police were called to document the incident, but details regarding the severity of the injuries were not disclosed.

These events highlight the risks associated with the roads in the interior of São Paulo, where traffic accidents remain a significant concern. The situation on the highways has prompted constant vigilance from transport authorities, who seek to implement measures to enhance public road safety.
