Steffen Bilger, the new Federal Minister of Transport, has commenced his summer trip with Deutsche Bahn to examine the safety of trains and the cleanliness of train stations in northern Germany. However, problems already arose at Berlin Central Station as the ICE experienced technical difficulties.
According to reports, the air conditioning failed during the journey. These mishaps at the start of the trip contrast sharply with Bilger's goal of assessing the condition of Deutsche Bahn.
