Troops Rescue Kidnapped Victims and Neutralize Terrorists in Nigeria
Nigerian troops rescued several kidnapped victims and neutralized numerous terrorists during operations in various states.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) reported that Nigerian troops rescued at least 59 kidnapped victims and neutralized 11 terrorists during operations across the country from August 14 to August 20. The operations were part of the ongoing efforts against banditry and terrorism, showing a sustained military response to the threats.
In Kaduna State, troops operating under the Operation Fansan Yamma managed to rescue one kidnapped victim while simultaneously foiling a terrorist attack in Sokoto State. These actions underline the military's commitment to addressing security challenges in these regions.
Additionally, air platforms from the Joint Task Force North East, known as Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), conducted a series of precision airstrikes targeting terrorist concentrations in various locations across Borno State. These operations reportedly resulted in the neutralization of a significant number of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.

The airstrikes took place between the night of August 21 and the early hours of August 22, marking a continuation of the military's efforts to degrade terrorist capabilities in northeast Nigeria. Reported outcomes included the killing of scores of terrorists believed to be affiliated with these groups.
On the local front, the Kaduna police engaged in a confrontation with suspected bandits, rescuing three kidnapped victims. The gun battle ensued when the suspected kidnappers opened fire upon the arrival of security personnel, highlighting ongoing banditry challenges in the area.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as they pursue both strategic military operations and local law enforcement actions to enhance public safety across various states. The collaboration between armed forces and police remains crucial in combating the twin threats of kidnapping and terrorism.
