The Ukrainian military had complained about throttling of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service. US President Trump told journalists in Washington that SpaceX chief Musk had lifted the restriction and access to Ukraine had been fully restored.

According to media reports, Trump either requested or ordered Musk to lift the throttling. Trump declined to elaborate. When asked whether he had called Musk himself, the US President responded that it "made no difference."

Trump emphasised that the important thing was that Musk had restored the Starlink service. The satellite internet service belongs to Musk's space company SpaceX. The exact impact the previous throttling had on the Ukrainian military was unclear from the available information.

It remained unclear under what conditions Musk had imposed the throttling and why he had now lifted it. It was also unclear whether Musk did this at Trump's insistence or of his own accord. Trump himself left these details unanswered.

The matter prompted various reactions. While Trump portrayed the restoration of access as positive, resistance grew against Musk's unilateral action in managing the war-critical service.

The exact duration and extent of the throttling remained as unclear as the future availability of Starlink for Ukraine. Trump focused on announcing the restoration without providing further details.
