Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Sign Defense Agreement
Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a joint defense agreement following discussions among their leaders in Mecca.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif came together in Mecca to discuss a security agreement. The governments of both countries announced the agreement on signing a joint defense accord.
According to reports from DER SPIEGEL, an underlying reason for the agreement is the ongoing conflict in Iran, which affects the security situation in the region. The new collaboration is expected to strengthen military exchanges and strategic cooperation among the three countries.
