Two fatal accidents in Pará and Tocantins result in casualties

An accident occurred during the March for Jesus in Terra Santa, western Pará, on October 15. A car lost control while taking a turn and struck participants of the event. The Civil Police confirmed that the driver did not possess a driver’s license. The incident resulted in the death of a woman named Dulcinéia Oliveira Pantoja and left another 11 people injured, according to video footage circulating on social media.

The Civil Police are investigating the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident, who provided testimony at the local police station on the morning of October 16. An examination is being conducted to determine if the car had mechanical failures before the incident.

On the same weekend, in Miracema, Tocantins, a woman died and a man was injured after the motorcycle they were on was struck by a car. The accident took place in the city center on October 16. Despite the circumstances, there is no information regarding the identity of the deceased victim or the condition of the injured man.

Both accidents had a significant impact on the local communities, leading to mobilizations on social media to remember the victims. Authorities at each location are working to investigate the causes and circumstances surrounding the accidents.

Mobi Rio, responsible for the BRT buses in Rio de Janeiro, also mourned the death of a woman after a bus wheel came loose and struck her, occurring in Tanque, Jacarepaguá, on October 16. In a statement, the company expressed its condolences to the family of the victim, whose name has not yet been made public.
