Typhoon Dolphin Causes Mass Evacuations and Flight Cancellations in China
Typhoon Dolphin has made landfall in eastern China, prompting over a million evacuations and nearly 1,500 flight cancellations as authorities issue weather alerts.

Typhoon Dolphin has made landfall in eastern China, causing widespread disruptions and significant evacuations. Reports indicate that authorities have moved over one million people to safety due to severe weather conditions anticipated from the storm, which is projected to bring heavy rain and increased flooding risks across multiple provinces.
Wenzhou, a city in Zhejiang province, has reported relocating more than 900,000 individuals and has opened over 1,500 emergency shelters. In Fujian province, nearly 100,000 residents have also been evacuated as a precautionary measure against the storm's impacts.
As the storm progresses, nearly 1,500 flights have been canceled in Shanghai. The National Meteorological Centre of China issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in several districts, warning that intense conditions could lead to flooding and landslides in the area. Authorities advised residents of Beijing and other affected regions to limit outdoor activities unless absolutely necessary.

The meteorological forecast indicates that while Typhoon Dolphin is expected to weaken, heavy rain will continue to impact regions in eastern and central China through Monday. Beijing is on high alert with expectations of increasing rainfall intensity in the coming days.
The storm has significantly disrupted transportation, grounded hundreds of flights, and forced the cancellation of various travel services including ferries and trains. Airlines such as China Eastern Airlines are attempting to resume operations in an orderly manner as weather conditions permit.
Despite the severe weather conditions, reports indicate that no casualties have been confirmed; however, local media have noted a missing nine-year-old boy possibly swept into the sea due to the storm. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates on the ongoing response efforts.
