On Sunday, the U.S. Armed Forces conducted an attack on the Iranian island of Larak, located in the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate that the strike targeted two missile launchers belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which were preparing to deploy naval mines in the region.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed the attack, stating that it resulted in several deaths and injuries, including among military personnel and civilians. The impact of the operation was described as significant, leading the organization to promise a severe response and punishment for those responsible for the attack.

According to U.S. Central Command spokesperson Tim Hawkins, the Iranians were preparing to launch missiles aimed at the strategic passage of Hormuz. This information was highlighted as one of the reasons for the military action taken by the U.S.

Sources from the Iranian Guard reported that the attack was carried out using drones, complicating the situation in an already tense area. Confirmation of casualties came in a nighttime statement, where the Revolutionary Guard referred to the dead as martyrs.

Additional reports indicate that the U.S. offensive may have resulted in at least two deaths and more injuries. However, the Revolutionary Guard has yet to provide a final count.

The situation is tense, with the threat of retaliation from Iran heightened following this incident, as mentioned in various statements made by Iranian officials, who emphasized their intent to respond decisively to the attack.
