Uitkov and Kushner meet with Putin in St. Petersburg to discuss Ukraine
Steve Uitkov and Jared Kushner held discussions with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg about the Ukraine conflict.

Steve Uitkov, the U.S. President's special envoy, and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 21 in St. Petersburg. According to reports from the New York Times, this meeting was part of ongoing efforts to facilitate dialogue about the conflicts in Ukraine.
The delegation arrived at Pulkovo Airport and was received by Kirill Dmitriev, Putin's special representative. The meeting took place at the Konstantinovsky Palace and lasted about three hours. Kushner participated in the discussions via phone as he was unable to attend in person due to health issues.
During the conversation, topics such as Ukraine and potential steps to revive tripartite talks between the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia were addressed. Putin expressed a willingness to resume negotiations in November, as communicated by Yuriy Ushakov, an advisor to the Kremlin.

Both sides reported a constructive exchange; however, no final decisions or agreements, such as a ceasefire, were announced. U.S. representatives had previously stated that they aimed to secure the release of an American citizen who is imprisoned in Russia.
Media reports suggest that the negotiations focused on several conflict points, including the issue of how the war situation in Ukraine can be influenced. However, no official confirmation regarding a new peace agreement was provided.
In a separate meeting after the negotiations, Putin also met the same day with Li Qiang, the Premier of China, to continue discussions.
