In the night from Thursday to Friday, Ukraine conducted a drone attack on an oil depot in Sochi, a resort town on the Black Sea in Russia. This attack resulted in a fire, which was confirmed by various sources. The independent Russian outlet Astra reported that the affected oil depot is owned by Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt, a subsidiary of the state oil company Rosneft.

In addition to the oil depot, a Russian air defense installation is also said to have been damaged as a result of the attack. On social media channels, particularly Telegram, images are circulating showing large flames and thick clouds of black smoke, indicating the scale of the fire.

The attack on Sochi is part of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine has previously repeatedly threatened attacks on Russian military and infrastructure sites in response to the continued Russian offensive operations.
