Unitree Robotics showcased "Superman," a humanoid robot, as the company sees a surge in its stock during its IPO in Shanghai.

Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics has unveiled its new humanoid robot named "Superman." This robot boasts impressive capabilities, including a spectacular jump of two meters and a running speed of up to 12.6 meters per second, or 45.6 km/h according to the company.
Unitree's IPO has resulted in a nearly 500% surge in its stock. This event marks the first in the humanoid robotics sector on the Chinese mainland market. The stock opened at a price significantly higher than its issue price, reaching 883.87 yuan.
This high valuation has propelled Unitree Robotics to a market capitalization of approximately 445 billion yuan. The company is regarded as a leader in the humanoid robotics sector, which is deemed strategic by Beijing authorities.
Unitree has also generated considerable interest due to its connections with tech giants like Nvidia and Amazon. This highlights the growing interconnection between robotics and artificial intelligence giants, which could impact future industry developments.
However, it is worth noting that the majority of Unitree's revenue still comes from research and education, accounting for 73.6% of its income during the first nine months of 2025, with a much smaller share of 9.01% coming from industry.
With the rise of the humanoid robotics sector in China, domestic companies like Unitree appear to have taken a lead over international competitors, fitting into a growth dynamic that attracts the attention of investors and the market.
