US imposes high tariffs on drones – China particularly affected

The US government has imposed new tariffs on imported drones that can amount to up to 100 percent of the value of the goods. This measure primarily targets foreign manufacturers, especially Chinese companies that hold a dominant position in the US market.

The introduction of these tariffs comes ahead of a planned meeting between American President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, escalating the trade dispute between the two countries once again.

Previously, the Supreme Court declared the tariffs imposed by Trump unlawful in February. Nevertheless, the government continues to enforce the controversial tariffs, causing economic upheaval worldwide.
