The US government has revoked more than 600 visas as part of its efforts to dismantle global birth tourism networks. This initiative is supported by a newly formed task force aimed at addressing the issue, which involves individuals traveling to the US to give birth for the purpose of obtaining citizenship for their children.

According to the Department of State, this action is part of a broader strategy to uphold the integrity of US citizenship. The task force will work in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to ensure that non-immigrant visas are used appropriately, as stated in a recent fact sheet released by the department.

This move comes in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to reject an attempt by US President Donald Trump to restrict birthright citizenship. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that American citizenship is 'not for sale' as the administration reinforces its commitment to ending the practice of birth tourism.
