USA sell two seized tankers for scrap

The U.S. government has sold two oil tankers that were seized in January 2026 as part of measures against the so-called shadow fleet. Both tankers had previously been under sanctions.

According to Meduza, one of the tankers was in the process of changing its flag to a Russian one at the time of the seizure. The decision to sell was made by U.S. authorities to hand over the ships for scrapping.
