In Madhya Pradesh, nine people, including three children and three women, died when their van was swept away by a swollen drain, according to reports. The incident occurred as the vehicle attempted to cross the flooded area.
Villagers reportedly participated in a rescue operation, tying ropes to help pull out some passengers from the van. The local police confirmed the situation and the involvement of residents in the rescue efforts.
Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a compensation of ₹4 lakh to the families of each deceased individual. Additionally, about 45 villages in the region are currently facing a flood-like situation according to local reports.
