The municipal pool in Viana do Alentejo has been closed due to water contamination, according to information from Notícias ao Minuto. This closure is temporary, but no details have been provided regarding the duration of the closure or the exact nature of the contamination.

This incident marks the second closure of a municipal pool in the Évora district within a few days. On Wednesday, the pool in Estremoz was also closed due to contamination caused by staphylococci, as reported by Observador. The occurrence of two pool closures in such a short time raises concerns about the quality of water in public facilities within the district.

Local authorities have not yet released information on the corrective measures to be taken or when it is expected that the pools will reopen to the public.
