Railway collision leaves three injured in Viana do Alentejo
A collision between a freight truck and a passenger train results in three injuries, one of them critical.

A collision between a heavy freight vehicle and a passenger train occurred on Wednesday morning, resulting in three injuries, one of which is critical. The incident was reported to authorities at 1:46 PM.
The seriously injured individual was onboard the truck, while the other two sustained minor injuries. The condition of the injured was reported in an official statement by local sources.
The accident took place in Viana do Alentejo, located in the Évora district. The impact between the vehicles led to a temporary suspension of rail traffic on the Alentejo Line.

Service was resumed around 5:00 AM the following day, as reported by the railway authorities. Comboios de Portugal (CP) stated that operations had been interrupted due to the collision.
After the accident, rescue operations were initiated to assist the injured. One of the critically injured patients was airlifted to a hospital.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision, but no additional information regarding the causes of the incident has been released.
