Austria has initiated the repatriation of migrants to Italy, with four asylum seekers transferred from Vienna. This decision follows those already made by Germany and Switzerland amid renewed scrutiny of migration regulations.

The news was reported by the Austrian agency Apa, which emphasizes that the new pact, effective June 12, allows for such transfers. According to the Austrian Ministry of the Interior, repatriations occur when there is cooperation from the migrants.

To facilitate the transfer, the Austrian authority offers migrants a train or bus ticket to return to Italy. These actions highlight a concrete implementation of the new rules among EU member states.

The ministry clarified that repatriation occurs in accordance with applicable regulations, in response to increased migratory pressures. Political opposition has raised concerns over this policy.

The transfer of migrants to Italy is part of a broader plan for migration management in Europe, aimed at ensuring greater cooperation among member states.
