Bastian Tronchon surprised the sprinters by winning the 10th stage of the Vuelta, according to various media reports. This victory marks the French cyclist's first success in major races and the first triumph for the Groupama team in the competition.
Enric Mas, the overall leader, maintained the red jersey even after this stage. Other competitors, including Ivo Oliveira, finished significantly behind, with Oliveira at 35 seconds and João Almeida over eight minutes back.
The race also saw Italian cyclist Romele finishing in fifth place, coming in behind Belgian cyclist Wout Van Aert. The time differences among the athletes were evident, highlighting the quality of Tronchon’s performance.
As the competition continues with intense pace, attention remains on Mas, who reaffirms his uncontested lead in the Vuelta.
