Emergency services have halted the spread of a wildfire in southern France after 18 days, and the fire is now officially under control.

In the Var department of southern France, emergency services have successfully stopped the spread of a wildfire. This was announced by the prefecture, which also confirmed that the fire had ravaged an area of about 63 square kilometers.

Despite the containment, the fire danger remains high in southeastern France. The wildfire threatened several communities and destroyed dozens of homes.
