Wildfire in France brought under control after 18 days

A major wildfire in the Var department of southeastern France has been controlled after 18 days. The prefecture announced that the fire is now officially classified as "stabilized."

In the Var department of southeastern France, emergency services have halted the spread of a significant wildfire after 18 days. According to a statement from the prefecture, the fire at Gros Bessillon is now officially classified as "stabilized."

The blaze had spread over an area of approximately 6,300 hectares, threatening several villages and causing the destruction of dozens of homes. Despite the containment of the flames, firefighting efforts continued.
