Fires contained in Var, heatwave orange alert expands
Fires in France are evolving as an orange heatwave alert extends to twelve departments.

After 18 days of battling the flames, the Gros Bessillon fire in Var has finally been contained. This development has been reported by multiple sources, highlighting the efforts of firefighters in this fire-affected region.
At the same time, an orange heatwave alert has been issued, now affecting twelve departments, including Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, and Vaucluse. Temperatures reaching up to 40°C have been anticipated in Var, prompting caution.
Starting Saturday at noon, four additional departments—Isère, Rhône, Savoie, and Haute-Savoie—will join the eight departments already under the orange heatwave alert, according to an announcement from Franceinfo.
