Wildfire on the west bank of Lake Garda under control after 13 hours

A wildfire broke out on the west bank of Lake Garda in Italy, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate during the night into Saturday. According to several sources, strong winds intensified firefighting efforts and significantly delayed operations.

Firefighters focused on protecting residential buildings while the extinguishing measures were hampered by the heat and unfavorable weather conditions. Canadair firefighting aircraft were also deployed to combat the fire.

As a result, residents and nearby tourists took precautions and left their accommodations. The blazing fire was visible from afar, causing great concern among those present in the region.

By late Saturday afternoon, firefighters were able to report progress in extinguishing the fire. By the night into Sunday, the wildfire was finally under control.
