In a video address on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he has ordered Ukrainian forces to increase the number of daily long-range drone strikes to 1,000. Currently, about 300 such attacks are carried out each day. According to Zelensky, it is essential to significantly enhance the intensity of these strikes.

Zelensky expressed that this is a concrete objective that must be achieved. The announcement comes in the context of previous strikes on oil refineries, logistics centers, and military targets in Russia, aimed at raising costs for the Russian armed forces. He emphasized the need to maximize the use of weapon systems to defend against Russian attacks.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian infrastructure to influence the outcome of the war. The Ukrainian president has described this as the result of a strategy to enhance his country’s military capabilities.

The initiated drone operations have already forced Russia to reevaluate its military resources. This is evident in the adjustments the Russian military leadership has had to make in response to the growing threat posed by Ukrainian drone operations.

Zelensky made it clear in his address that this decision also aims to further strengthen the offensive capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces. Existing threats from Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory are to be countered with a more effective defense system.

This increase in drone attacks is seen as a significant step in the ongoing military conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The Ukrainian armed forces are under pressure to meet rising military demands and secure the support of Western partners.
