Albares criticizes Italian position on Ceuta due to elections

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated that Italy's position on Ceuta is influenced by party needs and electoral motivations. This issue has recently been discussed in connection with irregular entries, where Ceuta has seen a higher number of such entries compared to Spain.

Albares also added that the attitude of the Italian government does not reflect the solidarity and support shown by the majority of European Union countries.

The matter has been brought to the attention of the Schengen Committee, which will meet on Thursday in San Macuto for the hearing of Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.
