All Clear After Major Police Operation at School Festival in Goldach SG
A major police operation in Goldach SG was concluded following reports of alleged gunfire during a school festival.

On Friday evening, police were called to a school festival at Wartegg School in Goldach, in the canton of St. Gallen, after multiple reports of alleged gunfire. The area was promptly cordoned off, and about 300 people were evacuated. Security forces acted quickly to eliminate any potential dangers to those involved.
Around 2 a.m., the emergency services gave the all-clear. Initial investigations revealed that the noises mistaken for gunfire were apparently caused by pyrotechnics. The St. Gallen cantonal police confirmed that no shots had been fired.

During the operation, students were required to leave the area with their hands raised, which led to a tense situation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the situation did not develop into a more dangerous one.
The cantonal police are working hard to clarify the exact circumstances that led to the false alarm. The major operation concluded without further incidents, and the security forces were able to reopen the area after the all-clear was given.
