Army alerts on security of Chinese factory in Ferrol

Military reports have raised alarms about the risks posed by the future factory of the Chinese company SAIC in Ferrol. According to military sources, the factory's location, close to a military arsenal, could expose Spanish frigate movements to a "systemic rival."

The Ministry of Defense and the National Intelligence Center (CNI) have expressed concerns about the possibility that the Chinese state could use this facility as a platform for espionage. This situation has led to increased scrutiny of the project by the relevant authorities.

Despite the security warnings, the Spanish Government has reaffirmed its support for the factory. In this context, the President of the Xunta de Galicia, from the PP party, has expressed concern about the implications of this project.

On the other hand, the Sumar party has suggested that the Defense alerts may be related to NATO pressures, opening space for political debate regarding national security and foreign investment in the country.
