Around 1,400 firefighters are involved in combating wildfires occurring in northern Portugal, with most operations concentrated in the areas of Vinhais, Torre de Moncorvo, Chaves, and Póvoa de Lanhoso. According to reports, about 700 personnel have been mobilized in these locations alone, representing over 50% of the total resources available at the national level.

The flames in the aforementioned areas are under control or in the mopping-up phase, but the situation remains critical in Boticas, where firefighting efforts are still active. Firefighters are intensifying their efforts to prevent the spread of the fire in the region.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation, ensuring the safety of the affected localities. Coordination among the different firefighting units has been crucial for managing the operations.
