The Association of Police Professionals (ASPP) has expressed concerns about the lack of necessary resources for crime prevention on the streets of Lisbon. The association's president, Paulo Santos, made these statements after the government announced an increase in police presence in the city's tourist areas.

According to Santos, even with the intention to enhance police presence, the effectiveness of operations relies on the appropriate resources that are currently unavailable. The ASPP believes that the shortage of resources undermines the police's ability to carry out effective preventive work.

The situation raises questions about the capacity to ensure public safety in areas that attract a large number of tourists, and the association emphasizes the urgent need for investment in resources to improve police response.
