At the initiative of the cultural state minister, Wolfram Weimer, various associations and institutions from the fields of culture, design, crafts, architecture, and religion have created a Bauhaus Manifesto 2026. This is taking place against the backdrop of the upcoming state elections in Saxony-Anhalt.

The manifesto aims to promote peace, freedom, and creativity, establishing a broad alliance for the freedom of art. The participants seek to make a statement underscoring the importance of art and culture in society.

The publication emphasizes the solidarity among various cultural actors who collectively oppose the influences of the AfD. The initiative is part of a larger movement committed to an open society.
