The Beira Baixa Line will reopen for traffic on September 20, as announced by Infraestruturas de Portugal. The section affected by damage caused by Storm Kristin, located between Mouriscas-A and Ródão, will be accessible again from this date.
The investment required for the repair of the line has been estimated at 3.4 million euros. This amount represents significant costs to restore the railway infrastructure damaged by the storm.
The reopening of the line aims to restore normalcy to railway traffic in the region, thereby supporting the operation of services this line provides to users and local communities.
