Carrefour bans electric vehicles on rooftop parking for safety reasons
The supermarket chain Carrefour no longer allows electric cars on various rooftop parking areas due to their weight and firefighting issues.

Carrefour has decided to no longer permit electric vehicles on its rooftop parking areas. The ban applies to 18 parking locations in Belgium, seven of which are in Flanders. The reason for this measure is that electric cars are too heavy for the often older rooftop structures.
Additionally, according to the fire department, extinguishing a burning electric vehicle on a rooftop complex poses significant safety risks. As a result, Carrefour has made this decision to protect both customers and the infrastructure.
