Clarence Seedorf appointed new coach of Corinthians and Memphis Depay
Clarence Seedorf has been named head coach of Corinthians, where he will work with Memphis Depay. He has signed a contract until the end of 2027.

Clarence Seedorf has officially been appointed as the new head coach of Brazilian club Corinthians. The former Dutch international has signed a contract that runs until the end of 2027. Seedorf, 50 years old, will take charge of a team currently facing a difficult situation in the league.
Seedorf's appointment comes at a peculiar time for Corinthians, as the team was suffering its eighth consecutive league defeat. In a recent derby against Palmeiras, they lost 4-1. These results have kept the club at the bottom of the Brazilian Série A, making the new coach's task challenging.
At Corinthians, Seedorf will work with fellow countrymen Memphis Depay and Zakaria Labyad. He previously gained experience in Brazil as a player, having been active there between 2012 and 2014, which marks his return in a coaching role.

The previous coach, Fernando Diniz, was replaced following the team's disappointing performances. The club now hopes that Seedorf's presence as coach will have a positive impact on the team's performance.
Seedorf has had a coaching career before, but this is his first role since 2019. During his playing career, he played for major clubs like AC Milan and Botafogo, and he has personal connections as well, including a marriage to a Brazilian woman, strengthening his bond with the country.
With his previous successes as a player, including four Champions League titles, there are hopes that Seedorf can use his experience to lift Corinthians out of the relegation zone and lead them towards better standings.
