The Colombian army has destroyed a drug lab in the small town of Mercaderes in the southwest of the country, seizing more than 1.8 tons of cocaine. This information was released on Sunday night by the new president, Abelardo de la Espriella, and the Ministry of Defense.
According to authorities, the drug lab is linked to the leftist guerrilla group ELN. The president has ordered the closure of the production facility in an effort to combat drug production in the country.
