Colruyt has announced a recall of courgettes due to a potential presence of the pesticide heptachlor. This measure was made public by the company on Tuesday.
The affected courgettes were sold between August 10 and 24. Colruyt is asking customers who purchased these vegetables not to consume them but to return them to the store.
As part of the recall process, customers will be refunded. Colruyt is following the example set by Aldi, which earlier also recalled courgettes for the same reason, according to reports.
Heptachlor is a pesticide associated with harmful effects. The supermarket chains are taking precautionary measures following an alarming report from their supplier.
