Constitutional Court rules on the Return Law
The Constitutional Court declared that the Return Law is not unconstitutional, following a review request from António José Seguro.

The Constitutional Court of Portugal has unanimously decided that the Return Law is not unconstitutional. This decision was announced by the judges of the court, who stated that they do not find grounds for declaring the law in question unconstitutional.
António José Seguro, the President of the Republic, had requested a preventive review of the law in early August, expressing doubts about its compatibility with the Constitution.
The debate surrounding the Return Law focuses on its legal implications and potential social impacts. Its approval generates differing opinions among political parties and civil society, but the court deemed the legislation valid under the current Constitution.

This preventive review process has been resolved with the court's decision, which alleviates concerns regarding the law's legitimacy and allows its continuation without legal interruptions.
The judges emphasized that the constitutional examination did not find elements justifying a declaration of unconstitutionality regarding the presented law, ensuring its implementation as stipulated.
