Controversy Surrounding Police Report on Mass Entry in Ceuta
Interior Minister Marlaska faces criticism following the revelation of a report questioning the official account of Morocco's intervention in Ceuta.

Interior Minister Fernando Marlaska has requested information regarding a police report suggesting that the mass entry of migrants into Ceuta was orchestrated by Morocco. This document contradicts the government's official assertions, which claimed there were no warnings about a potential event of this nature.
The People's Party (PP) has demanded Marlaska's resignation, arguing that he was unaware of the report in question, increasing pressure on the minister amid the controversy. According to PP sources, this lack of awareness reflects poor management of the migration crisis in Ceuta.
From the government, it has been indicated that they are analyzing the report, but they have refrained from confirming whether a formal explanation will be required from Moroccan authorities. In recent statements, Marlaska called for caution

referring to speculation regarding Morocco's possible intervention in the events in Ceuta.
On the other hand, the Ministry of the Interior downplayed the warning about the mass entry in Ceuta on July 29 and denied that the police report assigns responsibility to Morocco. Judge María Tardón authorized the police to share the report with their superiors, but the Interior Ministry maintained that there is no evidence pointing to planning by Moroccan authorities.
Finally, the Interior Ministry emphasized that the document sent to Judge Tardón does not attribute responsibility for the attack to the Moroccan Security Forces. These developments have sparked considerable debate regarding the management of migration and security at the border, as well as the government’s transparency in this area.
