Robles claims CNI alerted the Government ahead of the Ceuta assault
The Defense Minister reaffirms the role of the CNI, contradicting Marlaska's account of the mass entry to Ceuta.

Defense Minister Margarita Robles stated that the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) informed the Government one day before the mass assault on Ceuta, contradicting Interior Minister Fernando Marlaska's declaration. According to Robles, the Government Delegation received the warning about a planned mass swimming attempt on July 29, a date that coincides with a holiday in Morocco.
These statements by Robles, according to El Mundo, dismantle the narrative provided by Marlaska regarding the lack of prior warning. She emphasized that there was knowledge of a large leap towards Ceuta and explicitly defended the Spanish identity of the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, as well as the role of the CNI in this context.
However, Robles' stance has generated discomfort within the Government, with several ministers expressing dissatisfaction over what they perceive as an independent management by the Defense Minister. El País reports that her intervention is causing friction with the institutional message from La Moncloa and with other members of the Executive.

Additionally, the Government delegate contradicted Robles, stating that there was no clear warning in the manner she described. This discrepancy adds to a climate of tension, where differences among ministers are becoming increasingly evident.
The debate surrounding the Government's response to the migration crisis in Ceuta remains a heated topic, with opposing positions creating challenging dynamics within the current administration.
