At the European Championships in Paris, Corentin Le Clézio clocked a time of 1:43.80 in the 800 meters, allowing him to qualify for the final. The 26-year-old athlete is the only member of the French team to reach this stage.

Meanwhile, Roman Mityukov participated in the final of the 200 meters backstroke, his specialty. Although he set a personal best by improving his time by 0.74 seconds, he finished only fourth in his race.

These individual performances highlight the distinct journeys of the two French athletes at this major event, with Le Clézio effectively qualifying for the final and Mityukov achieving a personal best time without securing a medal.
