Debates among governor candidates take place in several Brazilian states

On Sunday (9), several debates among governor candidates were held in different states of Brazil, highlighting the presence of some contenders and the absences of others. Senator Sergio Moro (PL) and former mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) opted not to participate in the debates organized by TV Bandeirantes for the governorships of Paraná and Rio de Janeiro, respectively, as reported by Folha de S.Paulo.

In São Paulo, the current governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos) and former Minister of Finance Fernando Haddad (PT) attended the first electoral debate promoted by Band. Tarcísio was seen using notes during the debate, while Haddad did not resort to any aides, according to information also from Folha de S.Paulo. The event took place at 8 PM and was one of the main discussions of the evening.

In the Federal District, six pre-candidates participated in the debate organized by TV Globo, where they presented their ideas. This event was conducted by journalists Rodrigo Orengo and Lara Canepa, and the parties have until Saturday (15) to formalize the names of their candidates to the Electoral Justice, as reported by g1.

In Rio Grande do Sul, Gabriel Souza (MDB), Juliana Brizola (PDT), Luciano Zucco (PL), and Marcelo Maranata (PSDB) participated in a debate at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs). The meeting, promoted by Band, focused on exploring the weaknesses of their opponents, as reported by g1.

In Amazonas, candidates Isael Munduruku (Rede), Omar Aziz (PSD), David Almeida (Avante), and Maria do Carmo (PL) also participated in a debate promoted by Band.
